You move out from your parents and you finally move to your own? Or maybe you have found your dream apartment and it is time to say goodbye to your current roommates? Whatever the reason for your move is, you still have to deal with a lot of cardboard boxes, getting rid of unnecessary stuff and finding a good moving company (or a helpful friend). Here’s advice on how to pack wisely during your move to save yourself some stress.
First necessities box
In a separate box, pack what you’ll need for the first day after moving to a new place. By the time you have time to unpack all the boxes, you will have caused yourself a lot of unnecessary stress looking for the items you need for everyday life. So store your coffee mug, toothbrush, most essential toiletries, paper towels, kettle, cutlery and plate in one place. If you are still planning renovation works in your new apartment, pack scissors, garbage bags, a screwdriver or a drill separately.
Signature equals no surprises
The most important thing about packing all your possessions is to do it in an organized and logical way. While you may think that packing everything “on the fly” will be most convenient for you at this point, the reality may prove to be quite different…. Or rather, it certainly will. During the move you may find that in order to unscrew that shelf or dismantle that table you need a particular screwdriver that was packed a long time ago
At this point there could be chaos – where is that screwdriver! If you sign all the cartons, you will have no problem at all in finding the screwdriver and going back to packing, without pulling out the contents of nine other cartons…. And going backwards in packing to the starting point. Poodles are your friends, so a cardboard box wholesaler is sure to come to your aid as well, where you can order the right sizes, from small to really large.
Use space wisely
More and more cardboard boxes and you don’t know where to pack more items? Remember that you can always use the empty space in your pots, bowls or mugs where you can fit groceries like spices, flour or pasta. Likewise, when packing your closet items, make use of bags and backpacks to pack gloves, scarves and other small accessories
With a list, you won’t get lost!
Making a list before you start packing your boxes ensures that you won’t forget anything and that you won’t have a problem finding anything in your new apartment. Divide the list into rooms and then divide the boxes in the same way, making it easier not only to pack but also to unpack. We all know that sometimes it’s emptying the boxes that causes more problems than filling them. So it’s a good idea to think about this while you are preparing your packing list.
Watch out for glass!
Protecting fragile items ensures that you won’t get unpleasant surprises like broken cups or your favorite tableware while unpacking. The best way to save glassware from breaking is to put newspapers inside and wrap them with bubble wrap, paper or soft material. The items you care most about should be kept close together during transport. This way you can be sure that they will not be damaged during the move.
Auctions and bidding
While packing, you suddenly found that your house is full of things that you don’t need at all? This is a very common occurrence. Such items are often pushed to the very end of the closet, we forget about them, and they only take up space. Or maybe you’ve already bought furniture for your new place and your old ones won’t fit or don’t match the style at all? Take a look at all these items: furniture, books, trinkets, kitchen appliances or clothes. Ask friends and family if any of them will be useful. Take pictures and post them on the Internet. Remember that in such situations it is not about “making money” – Remember that the point of such situations is not to “make money”, although the extra pennies are certainly useful, but to get rid of the items you don’t need so that they won’t go to waste and you won’t have to worry about how to organize their transport. People will come for them themselves!
