Buy train tickets
Train tickets (such as Eurail Pass in Europe or JR Pass inJapan) are a great way to save money when it comes to train travel. If you’re traveling around a region for a while, train tickets are likely to be much cheaper than booking individual trips.
If you are booking individual trips, booking in advance will usually save you about 50% of the cost of a train ticket. If you don’t want to be tied to a fixed schedule, train tickets can help you save a lot of money while providing the flexibility you need.

Staying for free
There are many services that connect travelers with locals who allow them to stay with them for free. By using such websites and services, you will not have to pay for accommodation.
